As a travel document checker (TDC) at Austin Straubel International Airport, TSO Jean Schleis examined the Wisconsin driver's licenses of two passengers that "did not seem right."
Law enforcement confirmed the licenses were not on file with the state. The passengers were questioned and it was determined that they had been living illegally in the U.S. for over two years. They were arrested for using false identification to get through the screening process.
"This is an example of how combining quality TDC training with dedicated employees produces enhanced security through fraudulent ID detection," said Timothy Decker, Austin Straubel's federal security director.
